Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association (ORRA) http://www.orlrealtor.com is one of the most progressive real estate associations in North America with nearly 9,000 members in Orange and Seminole counties in Central Florida. It is one of the largest Associations in the United States offering a breadth of association services. In addition to the association the company also manages two for profit divisions and a not for profit foundation. ORRA also enjoys partial ownership of My Florida Regional MLS http://www.mfrmls.com, one of the top 10 largest MLSs in the United States today.
Taskforces:
ORRA has several actively contributing taskforces and forums meeting the needs of a variety of segments of its membership.
Orlando Regional International Council organizes information and networking opportunities designed to increase council members’ international real estate transactions.
Young Professionals Network helps young real estate professionals excel in their careers by providing tools and encouragement via mentors, networking events, and community service projects.
Brokers Council provides brokers with informative presentations in areas such as risk management/legal liability, industry trends and issues, legislative and regulatory issues, and brokerage management concerns. The council also oversees Orlando Broker Solutions, solicits broker input on ORRA programs and industry/community issues, and provides networking opportunities for brokers.
ORRA has led the industry in adopting new policies and programs to continue to improve the viability and relevance of their organization. For Profit Divisions:
ORRA also operates two highly successful for profit divisions – ORRA SGS and Orlando Regional Real Estate Network
SGS was established in 1999 under the name ORRASGS (http://orrasgs.com) as a technological partnership between the Orlando Regional Realtors Association and Data Targeting, Inc. to develop a predictive data mining system for use in commercial marketing and election analysis. It has since grown into the leading provider of political services to REALTOR® associations nationwide and is leading the way to serving other associations as well. SGS has clients in Idaho, Illinois, Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, and many in our home state of Florida.

Florida Real Estate Foundation
The EVP of ORRA also acts as the president of the Florida Real Estate Foundation. To keep up with the needs of the ever growing market, the Florida Real Estate Foundation http://www.floridarealestatefoundation.com, a 501c3 organization, was established to serve Central Florida through community development, charitable giving, economic research and education to further the educational quality of the real estate professional. Through the Foundation’s Art in Architecture program, Central Florida’s workforce families have the opportunity to purchase attractive and affordable homes addressing a critical community housing issue.
The Foundation also awards scholarships to Realtors® for Realtor® certification and designation courses. Financial assistance is also given to students who are studying real estate and allied disciplines at Orlando area colleges and universities.
A comprehensive research program, focused on real estate, economic trends and statistics is in development as an important part of the Foundation. Land use, planning trends, transportation, property taxes, impact fees, water management and other industry issues are included in this research.
FUNCTION: The Executive Vice President oversees all aspects of the ORRA operation. He/She is the manager of the entire operation responsible for ensuring each department consistently focuses on improving subscriber satisfaction while continuing to improve operational efficiencies. Through management and leadership, the EVP’s core goal is to achieve productive performance by creating a vision for the future that will guide the constructive growth of the Association.
Since ORRA also runs several for profit divisions, the ideal candidate will also possess strong abilities to build and manage research and technology services companies as well as the association itself.
The Executive Vice President is responsible for driving the success of the strategic priorities of the organization as outlined by the Board of Directors. They are also responsible for managing the financial health of the organization, closely managing budgets and continually striving to find methods to drive down costs. The EVP is also responsible for managing relationships with each of the board of directors as well as related associations, brokers and individual members. This position is also responsible for positioning ORRA as a leader nationally. The successful candidate will involve ORRA in state, and national real estate initiatives as well as assume leadership roles with key vendors and partners. They will also involve their direct reports in relevant state and national initiatives. The EVP is also responsible for continually striving to expand the size and scope of the subscriber base.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Within the limits of the Association’s bylaws and policies, the Chief Executive Officer is responsible for and has commensurate authority to accomplish the duties set forth below.
Supervisory:
o Manages 6 department heads and oversees approximately 30 employees
o Responsible for outlining and implementing development plans for each department head and providing quarterly performance reviews and bonus recommendations
o Responsible for setting and recommending changes to HR/Benefits policies and procedures
Member Services/Operations
o Execute all directives of the Board of Directors. Keep directors and members fully informed on the conditions and operations of the Association and attend all meetings of the Board of Directors.
o Plan, formulate and forward to the Board of Directors recommended basic policies and programs which further the objectives of the Association.
o Manages the day-to-day operation of ORRA and all employees of the firm; Ensures the Board of Directors, members and employees are kept fully informed on ORRA conditions and operations.
o Manages all vendor relationships and negotiates equitable contracts consistently seeking to improve the quality of services delivered to ORRA members.
o Manages and oversees all of the budgeting, financial accounting, reporting and asset management of the organization and closely monitors budgets and spending; The EVP has dual signing authority with the Treasurer? for all checks and is responsible for closely monitoring all expenditures versus approved budgets
o Responsible for continuing to refine investment policy to maximize return on short and long-term reserves
o Responsible for continual focus on membership increases and membership revenue increases.
o Serves as executive level support to all committees, PAG’s, and Task Forces.
o Involves Direct reports in relevant state and national efforts as well.
o Plans, organizes, coordinates and controls research and related projects and prepares reports on subjects of importance to the ORRA.
o Responsible for planning, formulating, evaluating and recommending to the ORRA Board of Directors all basic policies and programs which will further its objectives and maintains updated bylaws, and corporate documents in collaboration with Legal Counsel and NAR Member Policy Division.
o Responsible for measuring and driving consistent improvements in member satisfaction levels
o Responsible for recommending improved/enhanced member services to board of directors as well as operational efficiencies
o Responsible for continually improving service adoption and education participation
o Serve as the Association’s corporate secretary; maintain official minutes of the Board of Directors and Association general membership meetings. Serves as CEO of the Association’s subsidiaries: ORRA SGS; ORREN; and the Florida Real Estate Foundation.
REQUIREMENTS/JOB SKILLS: College degree as well as significant trade association or business experience. Possess terrific coaching, managerial, supervisory, budgeting, communication and planning skills. Experience in Multiple listing or other database inventory systems strongly desired. Strong ability to drive change and work effectively with volunteer committees. Must possess mature judgment, confidentiality, strong presentation and negotiation skills and a high degree of personal organization and initiative.
